autostart rule modification

    According to several parties, Kosky and the Forces have already talked about this deal amongst themselves.

    If you want to talk about an autostart rule modification, the title of the thread, let's talk about that, but do we really need to rehash this over and over?

    Thanks Will,

    My original intention was to find out people's experience with the Autostart timout and if they are regularly throwing away runs due to the other lane's inability to simply stage the car in a reasonable amount of time. The Force Kosky thing was just an example of how heated things get at the top end when a simple program modification could avert these types of altercations. The poll was a great idea as well.

    I'm just going to reiterate this. You don't need to completely change how the things work for everyone... Just adding a two step to the blower cars would completely fix this issue without having to change the autostart for one class. BTW Autostart won't be changing anytime soon.

    You may want to ask Jay Payne about how much you would tear up with the 2 step. He has already experienced that deal.

    Two steps are allowed, and the converter cars are about the only ones using them, in conjunction with a two stage throttle pedal.

    How would a 2 step fix it? Bringing it up when both bulbs are lit? RPM's are RPM's now matter how you look at it, a 2 step just lets you not think about where your launch RPM's are. But would you really want your motor turning 6-7,000 RPM's with the ignition going bat shit trying to keep it there? They aren't Pro Stock motors.

    6K for 1 second is the same as 6K for 3, 4, 5 ,6?
