Installing a RPM Performance Data Logger and would like to know where would the best place to install the fuel pressure sensor and why? It’s a BBC with a 990 pump and K9 blower.

If you are using a high speed bypass with a poppet after the BV then there is an advantage of having the sensor there so you can see the fuel pressure to know where to set the poppet at. If you are using Davenport's Jetsize software then his program uses the fuel pressure before the BV and assumes an average drop across the BV (how many Jetsize users knew that?) so having it before the BV in that case makes the software more accurate. If you High Speed bypass is before the BV then you can have the sensor before the BV. Since you have an Enderle pump and not a Waterman you need to monitor the pumps performance so you know if it starts going away and this can be done either before or after the BV because either way the fuel pressure is going to change when you change the mainjet or the pump sizer jet. The pump pressure line has a tendency to be a little more ragged before the BV because you are seeing pressure pulses from the pump's gear. but in RPM display you can go to the Graph Setup and under the filter column for the fuel pressure you can change it to a 3 to smooth the line out some.

Both locations work pretty well. Transducers are cheap.
