I have an altered with a blown alky hemi that runs in the mid 4.30's at hi 160's in the 1/8th and am trying VP M-5 fuel, anyone have any experience with this stuff and recommend and pill size or timing changes and what kind of performance gains they've had. Thanks, Mike

    VMP class

hey Mike we're running at 710 Dragstrip tomorrow (11/07) with the Southern Slingshots. I spoke to Matt Stambaugh last weekend and said something about a class like that at VMP too. I'd be interested in that for sure, keep me posted.

If you go through fuel as fast as I do, you will need to re - adjust your budget. It is not cheap. You have to decide if the added poop is worth the cost. It is to me. Don

Adding Powermist's product to regular alcohol will give you a larger increase in power and be much cheaper.

    Hey Avenger,

I'd definitely be interested in hearing more about any possible 4.10 deal. Not real sure I'm going to have many places to run next year. 4.10's a little over my head right now but the car has plenty of room left to step up a little, especially for 1/8th mile. BlownAlky, would like to hear more about the Southern Slingshots, sounds like they're letting some altereds in. Thanks for any info.

    Tune up

    Brandon, Don,
when trying this stuff should i richen it a pill size? VP website says most times you wont have to adjust anything when running M5. It also says it will help prevent detonation so no timing adjustment is needed. I have 10 gallons of M5 loaded in my trailer for tommorow. I guess we'll see.

Yes Ron we have about 10 altereds now, I'm new to the group and am not sure on some stuff but i think there's 48 teams total from fl,ala,ga,sc,nc,tn,ky,pa,oh and va, i think there's about 10 altereds, half and half blown cars to injected. we run exhibition mostly, it doesnt pay much. basically pay outs will cover fuel for car and tow vehicle, hotel and meals. pay out is divided we usually have 8 or 12 cars per event, whatever the track pays as a group the split goes 40% evenly then 60% get split up by distance traveled to get to the track. whoever drives farthest gets the most $. I think i can safely say we all dont do this type of racing to make money, we do it because we're all addicted to the power and speed if it was we'd be all still bracket racing much cheaper cars to own and maintain. Check out the website the webmaster has been moving the site to a new server so some of the website might not work. www.southernslingshots.com

If the air is good, fatten it up. you can take time out of it, if you run alot of lead. but try one step at a time. Just remember, how many runs you have on your stuff, and read the plugs & bearings. I really don't want to say to much on my tune up, because what works for me may hurt you, and I truly would feel bad. Let us know how it went. Good luck Don

    Brandon,
Powermist has several additives. Which one are you referring to, please?
What tweaks did you have to do to get benefit of the additive?
    Thanks

LET ME SAY i RUN IT AND @ MAPLE GROVE i FATTENED IT UP 8 SET THE BV @ 85 AND PUT 28 DEG. IN IT.LEFT THE LINE A LITTLE ABOVE IDLE. IT DID THE 60 FT .958 with the front tires about 8" in the air. Then gently set them down.& the 1/8 TH @ .387 This was with a roots @ 40 over. I love it. Plus it bothers all the track guy's at the starting line with the smell + eye watering. Don

    M-5 results today

Well, factored air was -400 feet, yes i said below sea level. the fuel smell nasty, made it hard to breath if you caught a good wif of it. it would take your breath away for a few seconds. it burned my eyes, my crew, the track staff, fans lol it is nasty stuff and of course it does do what they say the power was off the charts and couldnt get the thing to hook no matter what i did, foot brake instead of transbrake, timing out, half throttle off the line. the track was too cold to get traction today, it was plenty sticky when you walked on it but the air temp never got about 55 today and it was down in the low 30's last night which made for a cold racing surface all day. i'll just have to wait to go further south to retest in some warmer weather or wait till spring:(
