Valve Spring Pressure

    lets see here
    lets say you have a 2.5" intake for easy figuring
    real close to 5 sq inches of surface area
    put 50 lbs boost on it
    you now need 250 lbs to hold it static
    do you think 50 lbs is enough to keep the wheel on the cam after it tosses it over the nose
    if so run 300 lbs and see what happens
    i choose 425+

    X2. I can tell you that even 375 isn't enough. In general, the more the better.

    whos said 300lbs i said 385lbs on the fuel heads is what we used to run and the car ran fine and i throwed them away at 345lbs i wasnt tring to mislead anyone its what every one ran back then now its 400lbs plus and it seamed harder on parts if your going to run with the heavy hitters then yes spend the money for the higher pressure springs if your not running national events 385lbs will work and run fine remember its just MY THOUGHTS YA DIG

    385# is what I always ran up till now thanks to nancy matter..sending me some springs that now are over 400#...:D..(true story):p..Dave
