why cant they just put a heat activated switch behind the motor? so that when its just a pop you can potentially "coast to a win" just a thought

Guys and gals, Dave has already made a piece in case a fuel wing collapses. I would recommend everyone go to http://www.electrimotion.com/index Have a look at the diagrams for both the funny car and top fuel dragster safety device. There is two links in red on the homepage. There is an order status on the site. It is the who's who of the pro world. Dave's stuff works.
Everyone should have these devices. Just my 2 cents worth. New ideas, Dave is easy to talk to. Safety has to come first. Waivers are there but hope no one every needs to use one.

Dunno IF this can even occur... But, if there's a chance of it kicking the rods out without popping the burst panel...

Maybe have a strain relief down the sides of the block too???

    Remote Shutoff ?

How about point of no return remote control shutoffs. One at finish line, one farther down track, and one more even farther down track. They could be set in a order as needed to shut down the vehicle. At a earlier point in time if everything is going ok the driver could abort all settings with a flip of a switch.
