I'm still a bit new to the fuel system tuning side of this. So I'm sorry if this is a dumb or redundant question. I just watched part 1 and 2 of the videos on tuning MFI vs EFI by Will Hanna. There was a part in there where they were talking abut softwares that help you tune the engine by telling you what pill to run at the specific time you will be racing down the track. I understand that it is for all out heads up racing. Are there any softwares, that if you are running MFI, that can tell you what to run for a dial in? Or maybe if this is your pill size, this is what your dial in has to be.

    Thank you for your time.

Your dial in is. Ugh more dependent on the weather computed Densisty Altitude that assumes you have correctly adjusted the main pill to match it. I don’t know of one piece of software that will do both for you. What you need is Alky Pro software to adjust the MFI so you always have the best Air Fuel Ratio www.alkypro.com and a hand held weather station to feed the weather to Alky Pro and give you the Dial In based on the weather

    Hi Mike,
I don't know how Alky Pro works. from what I've heard it sounds like the software is set to have you on kill all the time. Or can it be setup to keep you in a safe zone?

Might be worth a try reaching out to Pat Hale and see if he has any suggestions for software. He developed a program a long time ago called QR. jr. Which would give you changes in ET based off a number of factors. It was a pretty neat program for its era. He moved on to help with the Alky Pro software.

Templar, you can set up Alky Pro to be any level you want. Rich, safe or kill. It is totally your option. It doesn’t have a mind of its own and you can set it up to be at any AFR level you want and it will keep it at that AFR level during changes in weather.

Once Alky Pro has you at a safe tune, would you watch weather and change your dial in every run? Or do you need to be changing pills all the time? It seems if you are changing pills all the time your consistency goes to hell.

Templar, you are at the mercy of the conditions.. the weather, the track condition and other things are out of our control. If the weather is worse the ET will suffer. If you don't re-jet for the change in weather, you get a double whammy - Besides the loss of performance from having less oxygen available, you're now richer than before and even more inconsistent. So no.. re-jetting to suit the conditions doesn't make consistency go to hell and is essential to having an expectation of what the car will run.

The Computech Raceair Weather Station that I sent you the link for has a ET prediction function in it based on the weather and assuming you are rejetting to compensate for the weather

I wasn't sure if I should. I know people do it two different ways. Some set the jetting and leave it and change dial in to weather only. Some change jets and re-dial in to the weather. Maybe it depends on the device you are using?
