slick bead thickness

Could anyone please tell me if there are different bead thicknes dimensions on slicks.
I had hoosiers 34.5 x 16 tire. And I am (trying to) install goodyear eagles. and the double beadlock 15.1 spec rings do not pull down correctly. The tires bead is seated. but looks to be thicker than the hoosiers. do i have the wrong tire?
