BRANDON PIERCE HEADS TO MEMPHIS

Memphis, TN -- Brandon Pierce and the Sooner One Motorsports team will return to racing at Memphis Motorsports Park for the Division 4 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, June 2-4. Following an impressive performance at Red River Raceway in Shreveport, La., where Pierce qualified #2 with a 5.59-second pass at 254.42 mph, they are hoping to improve on their semi-final finish.

In Round 1, Pierce ran 5.64 at 256.16 mph to defeat the defending Division 4 champion, Ashley Force. In Round 2, Pierce experienced fuel system problems at the starting line and made the decision to shut off the car, giving Gene Snow the bye run.

The 28-year old is a seasoned driver with more than eleven years of experience in Super Gas, Super Comp and Super Street classes. As a competitor in Oklahoma, he won several track championships and became a well-known bracket racer. In 2003, he advanced to the Top Alcohol Dragster class, and had several respectable qualifying efforts that year. The team has gained a great deal of experience within the past two years and is now running consistently with the help of tuner, Tom Conway.

Last year, Pierce was ranked #10 in the Top Guns of 2004 for Top Alcohol Dragster, which recognizes the best reaction times for the class. He currently resides in Glendora, Calif.

The Sooner One Motorsports team includes crew chief Tippy Pierce and clutch specialist Mike Taylor, James Pruett, Brian Peck, Tyrone Emmonds, David Benson and Steve Powell. The team is sponsored by Sooner Cabinet & Trim, AutoZone, Red Rock Racing Fuel Specialists, and Xtreme Graffix & Designz.
