Taylor Hopes to Roll the Table in Las Vegas

ANAHEIM, CA — The NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals will provide the second opportunity of 2005 for Top Alcohol Funny Car racer Dennis Taylor to compete on the national event stage. For some reason, The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway hasn’t been particularly kind to the Plumbing Concepts Team in the last few years. Hopefully, that’ll change during the weekend’s racing action.

With the 2005 season in full stride, Dennis is second in the Lucas Oil Series Pacific Division 7 points standings and is currently tied for third in the national rankings. Taylor is coming off a non-racing weekend, though he was at the O’Reilly Spring Nationals in Houston filming technical features that will begin airing during Sunday’s Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series coverage on ESPN2. More segments are scheduled to be taped in Las Vegas, as Dennis enjoys explaining the interesting mechanical aspects of Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars.

Trackside, the primary cast of challengers has already become crystal clear for the 2005 charge and no less than 26 Top Alcohol Funny Cars are expected to wage war for the 16-car qualified field in Las Vegas. From last year’s “Who’s Who” list, 6 of the Top 10 cars are pre-entered, along with a host of players that are capable of winning on any given day. Forecasts call for sunny skies and light winds with temperatures in the low 80s throughout the entire event.

Though his semi-final finish at the recently completed Lucas Oil Series race in Tucson could still be considered a good outing, Dennis and his team received a great deal of media attention, in the local newspaper and national television. As Taylor prepares for each race, he’s very thankful for having such a loyal group of sponsors and marketing partners and believes that many other businesses could benefit from similar involvement with Top Alcohol racers across the country. Taylor stated, “Successful people are beginning to realize the exposure potential we can offer with Top Alcohol Funny Cars and Dragsters. Our car has proven to generate a verifiable return of investment, since NHRA Championship Drag Racing reaches the demographic segment that our sponsors are targeting. We pride ourselves in being a professional caliber team within a sportsman series.”
