mixing bearings

    hey guys, just woundering if you can run a king bearing in the upper and a clevite in the bottom? is it ok to mix match? Dave Lowe

    Hey Dave
    I have done this on accident and did not like what I saw. It didnt hurt anything but I did see some wierd color transfered to the king from the clevite.
    That only happened one time after that I make damn sure all the clevites where out of the bearing trays....
    Dont know if this :confusedis an answer to your question but .....

    I accidently put mixed bearings in connecting rods and blackend crank every run until we found it.I had been running clevite m bearings and our guy that was buying parts got me a sleeve of v upper bearings.Once we realized what was going on that ended my bearing troubles.From that experience I would say you dont want to mix.
