I have drilled and tapped my rear wheels to fit the secondary (slick to liner) valve.

When screwed in, is it recommended to file them flat flush to the rim or leave them the slightly (approx .050) protruding up?

I filed mine down flush. Make sure to put some pipe dope on the threads or it will leak down somewhat. Mine took a week to lose 2 psi though and after the dope it doesnt leak at all.
