Coating Piston Pins

    I was thinking of having my piston pins coated...
    Any info would great.

    If you are burning them up, then coat them. If you are welding them to your pistons, then coat them. If you plan on running lots of vacuum, then coat them. But don't waste your money on an old junk pin, or something not strong enough to last a long time.
    If they are titanium, the coating does not stay on that well. And coating them by a credible company is anything but cheap.

    If you are burning them up, then fix your tune up. If you are welding them to your pistons, then fix your tune up.
    I would definately coat them if you are runnig a vacuum pump. You cant run a titanium pin without coating.

    We had some pretty good tune ups in the Nascar world, and we burned them up.
    We had some decent tune-ups in pro stock and burned them up.

    There are other ways to burn them up other than tune-up. But tune up is certainly a big one.
