We have to figure that out ourselves,

for now not sure on cam - we would like to cross bolt it and have a wide pan like the wide donovan

Use a Hurco 5-axis cnc mill

We have a sponsor www.smithshp.com that is kind enough to supply us with billet aluminium and grade 5 titanium.

You are right, this is one hell of a project but if we don't try we will never know if we can do it. I'd also like to make a set of heads too.

Our current heads are billet Morgan but are stud mounted so we want to make a set that a shaft mounted. Again not an easy project and not an overnight one either, lots to learn and lots to measure!

    Billet block material

Hats off to you, that's a big undertaking, and I understand the "just to do it" part, I'm the same way with rocker arms and the valvetrain, fascinated with both the challenge of making the parts, and the complexity of the geometries involved in making it right.

That Hurco is a nice machine, what kind of software are you programming with?

There is a friend of mine (truck puller) in Michigan who made his own block (from steel, though) that is Chevy based. He might be of help if you would like to contact him. JW

There are some out there already, think there around $18,000 though

Yeah definitely see you all soon
