I'm running a 518 KB , 1471 SSI blower on Alky , getting bout 38 lbs of boost @ 7500 RPM , timing is at 28 degrees , is that enough timing or TO MUCH ?? Any ideas on making more power , I run a Sand Dragster & this is my first Hemi , i really would appreciate any comments ..........Thanks Lee

    safe way

the only safe way to tell is ease into it. i don't know how many runs you make at a race before you check your bearings, or if you have ever tuned off bearings, but sneak up on it that way. timing can tear up alot of stuff tho.

then it goes back to what type of bearing you're running.

with that much compression, i wouldn't think you got a whole lot of room.

Dave germain and i run walts (war) deal in his funny car,
    526ci ,11.5.1 compression, psi blower 48 lbs boost..timing set @34 degrees
read your bearings and plugs, egt`s. keep a eye on your rocker adjusters, and always lube the tops of your pushrod cups, warm your oil before first start up of the day, unless its like 75-80 in the morning..lol
hope this helps even just a little.

    Timing

Thanks everyone , i am running 11 1/2 to 1 , found that out last night , i just run a short race 100 yards in the sand , bearings allways look great , & not smashed , i only check them every 20 passes or so ,now i know that is not very often to you guys running 1/4 mile but i am just small time racing , plus i'm keeping the RPM down to just 7500 , i will sneak up on the timing a little at a time .....plugs have always looked like i'm running a bit fat , but i don't get much alky in the oil ???? I'll have to check on the type of bearings i'm running , can't remember ... Thanks again for the replys Lee Lynam
