I didn't order a clevis from you. If you were working instead of trashing people's stuff on internet message boards you might be up to speed on who ISN'T ordering from you.

By the way, how soon will you be deleting or editing your latest post shown above? As fast as you did the other two?

I appreciate the info you've provided it's the type of info I was wondering. Funny that you bring up sonny hemi because that's what I'm leaning towards, not sure why more people aren't running them in a 14-71 all out situation?

There was a pro mod racer that had a set of Sonny's hemi heads I talked to a couple years ago the the Edmonton Rocky Mountain Nats. They were blowing the rockers stands off the heads and didn't think the cast heads were going to live. I think Kirk Kuhns was his tuner but can't remember the car owners name

On that note, what does a modern MBR head flow on the intake and exhaust sides these days? Thanks.

    Bigger is better

not sure, im out of the loop on that one. cant afford it, so I don't ask! my older billet heads were 555 cfm intake and 352 cfm exhaust on a sf 600 running out of air! 2.600 intake and 1.9 exhaust . too bad on the sonnys, they really show some good flow numbers too. maybe a copy in billet would work.after seeing them on that 1005 cubic inch motor, I thought they might be the ticket!!!!!

    Uncompetitive?

Hey Jim at Victory Race Cars How many national events have your TAFC chassis won? I bet McKinney and Hadman both have seriously kicked your ass. My Miner chassis with my uncompetitive MBR has been victorious in five nationals and ten divisionals including two of the last six nationals I have attended. I ran a 5.56 today for the provisional number two spot at Pomona so I would have to say you are full of shit. Have a great day.

Aargh. Which is the most sweet: Daughter, mama or grandmomma?

All is about money and tuner. Littlebit for driver too. Would love to have them Severance titanium roller rockers, would make a nature document on making love with them.:p
-They asked something like $22k a pair, so our mechanical ones that Arias made at 80´s will do fine.

In this viideo you meet 2 of 3 more quick Fontana / MBR cars in Europe.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNYNgsZ_dQA

And yes, we retune things, pack chutes, change all clutch stuff and with somewhat 4 experienced guys swap the piston/rods rack in about 20 minutes.
-The heads are pulled to tabel in 5 minutes and 2 guys when returned to pits...

Money goes, no matter the brand. Still all about it and a tuner. We have lack of both and still have quite decent fun.
-Bob stuff is good, but since we are almost the only idiots in planet to play such combo we are also much on our own.

And a happy 2014 for everyone!

    Engines

    This is a great discussion.

I have been dreaming a lot over the last few years about an unlimited class for blown alcohol and injected nitro where you could run any engine combo and setup you wanted....If it lasted long enough I can scarcely imagine what we would see. I bet someone would be running the sonny's head in it for sure...It would be cool as hell, imagine some of the odd stuff that would could come in v-10's, v-12's....(Drools) people would spend money like it was going out of style but it would be neat to see what engine seemed to perform best. Maybe Supermanzo would come out of retirement just to be the first in the 4's...lol

Honestly I think all of the modern stuff right now is similar in power and I believe in a rules be damned scenario it would come down to witch design can cram the biggest valves, get the most flow, maintain durability, ect....When the Big Block Chevy's originally dropped out of Pro mod it seemed because they could only do so much with the original block design as far as push rod location, port locations, and valve size. I had a set of back man heads where they took all of the shelf 23 degree BBC parts except the intake. They had head studs in the intake runners, pushrods through intake runners, ect...I am also guessing those limitations are what spawned the 8.3L deal as the original ones I saw looked just like my Rodeck BBC block only with the strange front drive. The 10L that I have a few pics of was a strange beast having the cam just under the intake manifold with the pushrods going straight to the side almost.

For what its worth I do have a friend on here who used to run a competitive fathead hemi in IHRA TAFC and went to an 8.3L deal a year or two ago and loves it. It's possible the switching hands of the company or just a lack of promoting is the reason why the MBR stuff isn't as common as say a fathead deal but I have to say they appear to be a great design. If I hadn't got tons of help from people who ran fathead stuff and I had an actual budget I might have went that route. I would still love to try one....Maybe Jody will let me borrow his :) I know from experience that this outlaw 1/8th mile dragster stuff is getting to be pretty tight and Jody Stroud has ran high 3.60's with his, I was there when Sheldon Bissesor went 3.69 with his Fathead 8 power plant, The current world record is owned by Paul Molnar with a Veney motor that ran 3.669. I'm not sure what Rob Atchison's 481X powered 5.6x pass was in the 1/8th mile was but it must be close as must be Dale Brand's Co-Line powered 5.60 Flat pass that rotated the earth and cured global warming...lol

Anyhow this is a great discussion and I just really wanted to chime in since I love these sort of discussions.

    Happy new year to everyone,
    Trevor Sherwood

I ran a MBR/Fontana/Arias before Bob Miner was born. LOL

From the January 1981 Popular Hot Rodding magazine. I started running it in 1979.

......and, apparently, the Arias-Miner is legal now in NFC.

I believe that's what they run in the Mendy Fry-driven car.
