    Nothing is free....

Like I said.. They get you in the parking lot, they get you having some food or drink, how about that t-shirt..

All this comes with your "free" ticket.

Its not a crime to make money, but someone some where is doing it..:)

    ADRL
    admission....free
    parking...$15
    hot dog $4
    pop $4
    t-shirt $20

    NHRA
    admission...$50-60
    parking...$5-10
    hot dog $4
    pop $4
    t-shirt $20

now...take a family of 4 people and it costs you $15 to get parked and get in the gate at an ADRL race.

    NHRA..$200+ for tickets...$10 to park;)

I heard Dallas/Houston was charging $5 for parking, as for the cost of concessions I couldn't tell you.

We paid $10 to park in Dallas. At the national it also cost you $10 to park. They are doing it right. Get the people there to buy the concessions and to buy the shirts and stuff (where the real money is). That is a money making proposition for them, and i commend them for it. Why not give the tickets away? Sounds like a sound business plan. they fill up the stands!!!!!!!!

Personally I think I'd rather see a packed house at every race and sell advertising/sponsorships to cover costs. It would be better for the track AND the racer. Hard to get a sponsor at a race with 25 people (other racers) in the crowd. Still think Denver has done the best with a divisional. (My only experience, never been to an adrl show.) All tickets given away by Grease Monkey to their customers. Track makes money on parking and concessions.

Flash is right. How much more money do you think would come into our sport on the sponsorship level for Sportsman teams if we could provide a venue that will have this many spectators??????? It would be a full blown trickle down effect. I think they have marketed it correctly, and it is paying big time dividends.
