To correct what was said early....adjusting the blade gap and the BV does in fact set the idle mixture. We set the blade gap to a known...
I agree just set it at 80%. Brian while you are setting it at 80% and you have the leakdown tester hooked up showing your 20 lbs or 80% slowly...
If you put airated nozzles in the ports I understand that it will spray fuel all over the place when the ports are turned on. Never have done it...
Bottlefed, I have a car I tune that does not have airated nozzles in the hat for a specific reason (secret). It idles and runs great.
Unless you have a fuel flow sensor and you are knowledgable on how many GPMs are required at stage, during first gear and the rest of the gears...
That all depends on how unstable your timing is without a cranktrigger. If it is moving around 1-2 or more degrees because of mag drive wear or...
DMPE has them, Give Jon a call
Is this a snout for a setback blower or a standard placement blower? DMPE have some real good snouts. Call Jon Salemi at (716) 832-7583
I would drop the leakdown back from 93% to 88% and try it first and record EGTs then let it cool down and try it at 85% and compare.
But if both the gauges read 0 to 100 lbs then on the second gauge 24 lbs would be 76% leakdown. Zero on the second gauge would be 100% leakdown...
As far as having the output of the BV hooked to the hat nozzles. Maybe I am just different because if you have it hooked up to the port nozzles...
Are you reading your leakdown backwards. 24 lbs on the dial is 76% leakdown. You would bring the 24 down to 20 or 80% to be richer. You idle EGTs...
Can't tell you what the timing should be with the fuel heads but somebody will chime in and tell you. As far as the leak down on the BV it...
Tom you need to be a little more specific on what you are asking. Are you asking how many gallons of alcohol you would use while staging or are...
What kind of oil did you put in the gear box?
Never have had any problems with Hoosiers. If somebody has a stability issue I would suspect the tire pressure being too low for the weight of the...
When you hear the motor popping and crackling after a run you know it was a good run. Don't need a head temp gauge for that.
Brian, I have seen head temps at the end of a quarter mile vary from 210 to 260* F. A lot depends on the ambient temps, how long you had the motor...
It would depend on your oil clearances on the rods and mains. If you can hold at least a minimum 10 lbs of pressure for every 1000 rpm you turn...
Have not seen that happen before. I would be suspect of that old box.
