Jody, Kill it with the fuel cut ;) and make sure you pull the chip out of the number "ONE" hole of the six shooter when you check the timing :D
13 cubes is not that big a difference so I would look at cam timing. do you know exactly where the timing was in the old engine when you took it...

whats a "glide clutch"? The title on your thread says "best cam for T/D" ,you can't run a clutch in a blown car in T/D ;)
I always set mine at about an 1/8th inch , if it needs more ....it will take it on its own !
