VP introduces contingency program for the IHRA

<img border="0" src="http://insidetopalcohol.com/vplogo.jpg" width="350" height="148" align="left">SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 6, 2006) VP Racing Fuels, industry leader in the manufacture of racing fuels and other performance products, announced today it will offer a contingency program for International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) competitors for the 2006 season. A continuation of the program started midway through last season, it will be administered independent of IHRA, according to Bruce Hendel, Global Sales Manager for VP.

“VP has been a major and consistent supporter of drag racers since it started manufacturing racing fuel in 1975, through contingency programs and other sponsorships,” said Hendel. “With this program, we want to reward the loyalty of those racers who continue to use VP fuels and ensure all IHRA competitors feel free to choose the best fuel available for their applications.”

“Because IHRA has an exclusive agreement with its Official Fuel sponsor, it precludes us from working directly with IHRA to administer this program,” continued Hendel. “So we’ll manage it ourselves, and ask racers simply to provide the appropriate documentation to us.” Contingency postings include the following:

    Winner Runner Up
    TF $500 $100
    NFC $500 $100
    PM $500 $100
    FC $500 $100
    PS $500 $100
    TS $300 $100
    TD $300 $100
    SS $300 $100
    STK $300 $100
    QR $300 $100
    SR $300 $100
    HR $300 $100
    TSTK $300 $100
    ET $100 $ 50

VP’s program will be effective at the first national event on March 24 in San Antonio, TX. Information regarding fuel for IHRA races can be obtained by calling the appropriate VP regional warehouse, each of which is listed on its website at vpracingfuels.com.

To claim their award, racers should provide a photo of their vehicle in the Winner’s Circle, clearly showing VP 5”x7” logo decals affixed to their vehicle. They should also provide proof of purchase of VP fuel that is legal for use in their IHRA class, in the following minimum quantities:

    · 5 gallons per race
    · 30 gallons purchased within the past 60 days prior to the date of the race for which the award is claimed.
    · 54 gallons purchased within the past 120 days prior to the date of the race for which the award is claimed.

The required documentation should be mailed to:

    VP Racing Fuels
    Contingency Administration
    PO Box 47878
    San Antonio, TX 78265

Note: Racers currently sponsored by VP are not eligible for contingency payments.
