Troy Stone to go TAD racing

(1-11-2005) – Troy Stone is ready to step up to the next level. After years of racing at the front of the IHRA’s Top Dragster division, the President of Vintage Trailers Ltd. is making the move to drive in Top Alcohol Dragster.

“We have been racing a blown alcohol dragster for the last 5 years and we decided that this was the year that we would step up to Top Alcohol Dragster in NHRA.”

Stone plans to debut the blown dragster with its “Alky Scientist” paint job at the Eastern Spring Test Nationals presented by Torco’s CompetitionPlus.com in Valdosta Georgia the second weekend of March.

Tentative plans are to race all of the NHRA Division 3 races and some national events.

“We are very excited about racing this year, but we could not have done it without the help of my crew chief Mike Stoll and Darren Mayer of Darren Mayer Performance Engineering (DMPE). They have been an invaluable help to get us ready for the 2006 race season. This car is not going to be your typical Blown Alcohol Dragster. I have given Mike and Darren free reign to try anything and everything on this car. Hopefully, we will turn some heads at the track in not only the way the car looks, but in the times we put up on the boards. It will definitely be an experiment in horsepower.”
