    Top Sportsman racers,

I humbly ask for your help/input concerning the minimum weight of supercharged/turbo combinations. This combination is required to weigh 150 pounds more than the nitrous combination. I ask both supercharged and nitrous racers to contact their specific division sportsman advisory council member because the safety of both racers is in danger because of this weight discrepancy.
Below are the different division advisers...sorry email addresses not posted. Also below is the two main reasons I think the weights need to be even if you would like to copy/paste.

    Top Sportsman – Top Dragster

    Chairperson Rich Schaefer

    D1 Mick Smallridge

    D2 Ronnie Davis

    D3 Dean Mcllvain

    D4 Jimmy Lewis

    D5 Mike Chitty

    D6 Greg Carlile

    D7 Tom Yancer

Reasons are first and foremost: safety. Weighing that much is a safety issue both in being able to stop at some of the non-national event tracks as well as if a car gets out of shape it has more momentum carrying it into harms way which is either into the other lane or into the wall. If it hits the wall then it will cause a larger impact to both the driver and the wall simply because of the laws of physics. This is for the safety of both competitors.

Secondly, with both combinations having available the proven resources to run below the minimum E.T. for the class, combination equality is not an issue as was 10+ years ago when these weights were established.

I kindly ask for each Top Sportsman competitor to contact their respective adviser member.

    Thanks
    Casey Spradlin
