I need to service my 9 1/2 inch Strange top loader but this is the first top loader I've owned. Is there a manual available? How do you remove the hubs? Are they pressed on? Is there a threaded axle retainer on both sides or just one? How much oil do I put in? Any help would be greatly apreciated! Thanks.

You can get a copy of the service manual from Strange - it's really an exploded view parts book with some assembly info. The tool kit they sell makes it easier to work on....I bought a used tool kit after the first time we had one apart. You can change gears without the tool kit....just takes a little longer....call me at 515-987-4900 (home) if you have questions....I should be able to talk you through it....I was just where you are with the toploader a few years ago...they are super strong...just a little hard to service....Scott Gaulter

ok...and why you ask???;)...if you have the carbon stuff when you push the car you will hear a poping sound...well I did know what that noise was sooo I tore down my top loader to find nothing wrong so I call strange and told them I had a problem and told them what is was doing and they said I had the problem....It's apart now you have to put it all back together:eek: nothing was wrong....it's very simple to do but it is time consuming..Dave
