Spitzer Race Cars renews performance bonuses for North Central Division Top Alcohol racers

Spitzer Race Cars will continue sponsorship of low qualifier bonuses for Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car racers at the five 2006 North Central Division NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events where they will be contested. In addition to the individual awards, Spitzer Race Cars will once again award year-end bonuses in each category, as well as, added bonus money for any new track elapsed time records set.

Low qualifiers in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car will receive $500 at each event. A year-end bonus of $1,000 and special trophy will be awarded by Spitzer Race Cars in each category at the annual “Land of the Winners” banquet to the driver accumulating the most qualifying points in the five races. Qualifying points for the bonus will be awarded with 16 pt. for the low qualifier, 15 pt. for number two qualifiers, etc.

Any driver setting a new Top Alcohol Dragster or Top Alcohol Funny Car elapsed time track record at Indianapolis Raceway Park, April 7-9; Route 66 Raceway, July 14-16; Edgewater Sports Park, Aug. 4-6; Beech Bend Raceway Park, Aug. 25-27 or National Trail Raceway, Sept. 22-24 will be awarded $500. Bill Reichert captured two of the record bonuses last year with new track marks at Mid-Michigan Motorplex (5.417) and National Trail Raceway (5.312).

Division champions Marty Thacker and Mick Snyder scored the most qualifying points in 2005. Each picked up $1,000 bonuses along with beautiful lead crystal awards from Mike Spitzer at the annual North Central Division awards banquet.
