Shift Lite Question

i need some advice....as always. i use a tach and a shift lite on our car. i just use the tach to stage, and nothing else. (clutch car) i want to take the tach out of the car, and get one of those new lites that have 3 settings on them from auto meter. 1 for staging, then 2 more for shift points. i talked to auto meter, and they told me i needed a control module as well.(5314) has anyone had any experience with these? what exactly do i really need?
