I Have Talked To Randy At Rpm Performance About A Data Logger He Said I Needed To Run Shielded Cable On The Mag I Have Looked Around And Cant Find Anything That Is Big Enough For This. About The Only Thing I Can Find Is Like Stereo Cable And I Figure I Need To Have About A 14ga Wire What Do Most Teams Run On There Mags What About Plug Wires I'm Running Moroso Ultra 40 Wires He Said Not To Run Solid Core Wires Because Of The Noise Factor Which I Can Understand But I Cant Find Anything To Run On The Primary Side I'm Running A Super Mag 3 That Has Been Uped To 5.2 Amps And Tom Cirellos New Coil He Has Designed Thanks Jamie

call don zig...you have to run solid wires with a mallory mag if you run anything else they won't last, beleave me ive tried it, we put our compt.box up in the front of the foot box and it seems to be working and yes it's an auto meter...good luck

MSD states not to run solid wires with any of their Mags or ignition boxes because of interference especially with and control boxes and data loggers. At 40,000-50,000 volts the small resistance in non-solid wire is transperent to the voltage and causes no loss.

    Data logger Shield

Shield the data logger, not the wires. We use a msd 44 mag with msd solid core wires on our funny car and do not have any problems. The data logger is contained in a carbon fiber computer box only 30 inches from the mag, but to shield it from the mag, we built a steel case surrounding the data logger on all sides except the front control panel and mounted the entire unit in the computer box. The shield around the computer must be steel, aluminum will not work.

you do NOT have to run solid wires with a Mallory. if you are running electronics safe yourself the trouble... run a suppression wire (i've had good luck with taylor thundervolt 50's and i know msd's wire is good too). loggers are worthless if your the data is shitty... sheild the box if you need to but definitely run suppression wires. they will get used up... so change them and change the coil wire 8x as often.
