Hey guys I just want to see if I’m missing something. Got a outlaw 10.5 3350lb mustang, blown alky SBF 427ci, stripped roots 871 21%OD, 10.8:1 compression, 20 lbs boost, Kuntz & co heads flowing 340 per chamber, .800 lift cam, stock junk ford blower manifold (need a sheet metal). Fuel pressure was unknown, graph jumped from 30's to 70's lbs, but don't know it that's right. We can’t keep head gaskets on the motor, and we’ve torched the heads three times this year! Went to copper head gaskets w/ o-ring and receiver groove, blew # 2 and #3 cylinder and torched the head first pass out (yes we re-torqued the heads after warming up). I run port nozzles (checked them), w/ bird catcher. .035’s in the ports, .045 in the hat. Had a .120 main on the last pass w/ 31 degrees timing. My fuel pump puts 12.4gpm @4000. I have a bypass off the pump with an idle check spring and a .150 pill to get rid of fuel because the pump is too big. Formula shows (w/ the bypass) I’m putting 4.869 gpm in the cylinders that last run. EGT’s were showing 1220-1300 in those cylinders, but they always read about 100 more than the others, even when I switched them with 1 and 4 cylinders. Am I missing something, or is this ford just not meant to make over 1400 hp??? How much fuel should it theoretically take to make 1600-1700hp? I know I’m going to get hammered on this but I’ve never had my system flowed…Should be fat though! Plugs show heat just starting to get down on the first thread and don’t even see a timing mark yet….what the heck!?

Have your system flowed......EGT sounds too hot even if its 100 off.
