Another novice question for all. What is the best magneto rev limiter to get (easiest to use, simple design etc..)?
We run a SMIV, hopped up to 7 amps on a front mounted offset drive KB Olds.
The idea of not having any limiter is scary for me.
How do they work? Someone once told me that when they hit the limit it kills the motor. This doesn't sound correct to me, but mags are new to me.

    Thanks for the help

we have used both the auto meter and the psi. myself I like the autometer.for one main reason, you can change it buy a turn of a knob. The psi you have to send back and have a new ring made. both work both are good....good luck Dave "Chrome" Lowe

    Rev Limiters

Keith The Psi I Think Is A Good Unit And Works Well It Uses Weights And Springs Just Like A Mechanical Advance Dist. The Heavier Springs The More Rpm It Takes To Kick In. The Weights Once Out Of Contact Of The Main Pole No Spark A Real Simple Design And Works Well You Usually Can Pick Up A Used For 300.00 To 400.00.

We had one in th good 'ol days. Just make sure you pop the lid and service the contacts once in a while.
