RAIN COULDN’T STOP LOMBARDO FROM RUNNING CAREER BEST IN GAINSEVILLE!

1210-08443.JPG Brea, CA--The Gatornationals were a little colder and wetter than what may have been expected, but that did not dampen the performance of John Lombardo Jr. and his NAPA Filters.com crew. With NAPAFilters.com as co-sponsors of the event, the Lombardo team was eager to make the cross-country trek to show the crowd just what they were capable of. The result; a semi-final finish and a career best 5.50 at 260 mph in eliminations. Lombardo’s 5.54 run landed the team second in qualifying to Frank Manzo, along with a chance to move on to the semi-finals. Although tire shake prevented a move to the finals, Lombardo is still pleased with the progress his team has made. The 2011 Division 7 champ summed it up well in saying, “There are 18 cars on the property. When you wheel in the #2 spot on your first visit to the Gators, folks take note of your program.”

Lombardo and crew are back home, already working and chomping at the bit to get to Vegas. It has been a strong season so far for the NAPA Filters team. Lombardo is currently number one in the Lucas Oil Division 7 point standings, and this is only his third year running. The team hopes to continue to make strong passes and maintain the car and crew they have worked so hard to build. The Southern California native is confident and ready for his team to take on the Las Vegas Regional and National events set to get underway this weekend!
