    jr,

it depends on the od the car is running at. in tafc at 92 od, quill shafts are rarely a problem. on the dragsters at 115 od, if you run a reasonably full schedule, and you're chasing points, it wouldn't be a bad idea to put a fresh quill shaft in every year.

we lost a real good run a couple years ago on cannon's car. just died in high gear. after we spent an hour or so checking electrical connections we peeked in the injector and noticed the rotors wasn't turning....

    JR & Will,
I used to believe that 75 runs was the changeout time on the PSI made shaft. However we lost one in the first round at the Gators, last month, that only had 46 runs on it. I have since acquired a Lenco quill shaft. It is beefier, but I'm still not sure how long to run it.
