Wilson Racing produces quickest run to date!

Topeka, KS.. - This past weekend's NHRA / POWERADE Drag Racing Series National Event at, the O'Reilly Auto Parts Summer Nationals at Heartland Park, Topeka, Kansas May 26th-29th was the latest stop for the TORCO Race Fuels / Wilson Racing Team for 2005.

Wilson, from Winfield, Mo., was pleased after qualifying 7th with a 5.44 after smoking the tires on the first run and the second run was rained out. They received one last chance Saturday morning and they ran one of their quickest runs of the year. "This is the best we have ran this year and the best part is that we still have room for improvement. We improved again first round with a 5.43 and had the 3rd best package (reaction time & ET = package) of the round, but lost to the best overall package of first round."

"This past weekend is just another example of how important each and every qualifying session is. We only received 2 sessions due to rain and we may have been able to improve even more. We are still in the top ten Nationally heading into the heat of the summer and that is typically when we run our best numbers. We are learning each and every run. Our numbers are proving that and our next goal is to able to run in the 5.30's even in the heat of the summer" stated Wilson.

Wilson Racing is already preparing for the next event in Chicago in less than 2 weeks and wants to keep focused on all the positive that they have experienced so far this year. "We are going to Chicago with the same combination we finished with at Topeka and hopefully we will have good weather and receive all of our qualifying sessions. Our Team is working very hard together and this past weekend is proof of that because it was a team effort with many discussions that allowed us to run 5.43". stated Wilson.
