Snyder Back Behind the Wheel for the Thunder Nationals

After a few weeks off, the Snyder Motorsports Race Team is back in action this weekend. Not at a traditional NHRA divisional or national event, but at the Thunder Nationals held in Martin, Michigan at US 131 Motorsports Park. For Mick Snyder, driver of the TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored Top Alcohol Funny Car, this will be the first time he has participated in an invitational event.

“This is going to be a brand new experience for our team. Traditionally, we test at the beginning of the year and then attend divisional and national point events for the remainder of the year,” Snyder remarked. “We have never been to an invitational before, but when the gang at TORCO Racing Fuels called to ask us about attending we welcomed the opportunity to represent our great sponsor. Especially since the event will be held less than an hour away from the TORCO Racing Fuels headquarters in Decatur, Michigan.”

“Don’t get me wrong we want to win this event and put on a good show for all of our TORCO family that is coming out to see us run this weekend, but we are planning to use this event as a test session. Dad and I are always coming up with new things to try to make the car quicker and faster. Usually we have to test these ideas during point events. This will be a great opportunity for us to see how our ideas work before heading to Topeka next week.”

Qualifying for the event will be at 4 PM on Saturday. First round of eliminations will be held at 7 PM and final round will be under the lights at 10 PM.
