Snyder Qualifies Number One in Mid-Michigan

The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by TORCO Race Fuels was in Mid-Michigan this past weekend to continue their defense of the Division 3 Championship.

The Team started off the weekend running a 5.84 at 238.91 mph out of the box, the low E.T. of the weekend and number one qualifying spot for the event. Driver Mick Snyder lifted early on the run but due to track conditions was unable to keep the car out of the sand trap.

“The damage to the car was minimal and with our top notch crew, we could have been ready for the 2nd qualifying pass the next night. However, with the rough track and the steel guardrails, I decided it was too dangerous,” said crew chief Larry Snyder. “Even after qualifying number one, safety is still most important.”

That evening the TORCO Race Team decided to load up and head back to DeMotte, Indiana to begin getting ready for their next event.

Although disappointed with the events that transpired this past weekend, the Team is looking forward to their next Division 3 contest at Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois July 15th thru the 17th.
