Thacker Looking to Rebound at Edgewater

Marty Thacker and the Rapid Transit Race Team will be in Cleves, Ohio this weekend to participate in the Division 3 Lucas Oil Divisional Racing Series event at Edgewater Raceway Park. This event is the 4th of 6 in the North Central Division and the final race to earn points in the Jeg’s All-stars series.
Thacker who is the current ET track record holder at Edgewater is looking forward to the weekend. “After having stumbled at the last two events, we are ready get back into a rhythm this weekend. We normally run pretty well at Edgewater. I've switched everything back around to the same set-up that won the Mid-Michigan event last month. Just in case that isn't enough, we'll pour in the TORCO Racing Fuel and watch her fly.”
In a very competitive Division 3 points race Thacker is currently sitting 4th, just 1 point from 3rd and 21 points out of second. This weekend could prove to be very significant when the points are tallied at the end of the year.
"This is the last weekend to win points towards qualification for the 2005 Jeg’s All-star Event, and we are one point behind our TORCO Teammate Jeff Wilson for the chance to represent Division 3. Since we won the All-Star event in 2002, runner-upped in 2003, and then barely missed being the Division 3 car last year, we are really hungry to reclaim that right. To be in the All-stars for TORCO Racing Fuels, Atlantic Scaffolding Company and Boltech Services would make-up for our sub-par performance these past couple races. All of that, along with the chance to earn points in the Divisional and National Championship races, makes this a real big weekend for the Rapid Transit Team.”
Qualifying will begin Friday night at 5 PM and continue Saturday at 5:30 and 8:30 PM. On Sunday final eliminations will begin at 1PM.
