Thacker Remains Solidly in the Top 10

Last weekend, The Rapid Transit Race Team was in Dallas, Texas to participate in the 20th annual O’Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals. The Top Alcohol Dragster driven by Marty Thacker had a strong showing, but was ultimately unable to hold off their A-Fuel opponent in the second round.

Thacker qualified #9 for the event with a 5.41 at 263 MPH. First round, Thacker was first off the line with a great .020 light and ran a 5.40 at 264 MPH to earn the win light. In second round, the TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored dragster was once again first off the line and broke the beams with a 5.39 at 264 MPH, but was unable to come away with the victory.

“Lately, the car has been really coming together. We are making a lot of good runs, but we just can’t catch up with the A-Fuel cars in this kind of air. We have to do the best that we can and sit back to see if one of them makes a mistake against us,” remarked Thacker.

“I have a great crew working on this car and each time I pull up to the line I feel confident that we are going to put on a good show for our fans and our sponsors. The Rapid Transit Race Team is currently sitting in the 6th spot in the POWERade National Points standings for Top Alcohol Dragster. In late September, the Team clinched the Division 3 Championship and the Spitzer Low Qualifier Series Championship.
