Thacker Looking to Move Up in Points

The Rapid Transit Race Team and driver Marty Thacker are heading to Bowling Green, Kentucky this weekend. After their runner-up performance at Edgewater Sports Park earlier this month, Thacker clinched the Division 3 All-star representative spot. With a good showing this weekend he will have the chance to take the lead in the Lucas Oil Division 3 points standings.

The TORCO Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Dragster set both ends of the track record last year when they recorded a 5.524 at 260.31 mph during qualifying. Thacker was the eventual runner-up in that race and is hoping to finish in the winner’s circle this weekend.

"This TORCO Race Fuels dragster is on the verge of doing great things. It has taken a few more events than we had hoped to figure out a new component, but we feel like we're getting close. Our years of experience in the U.D.R.A. circuit and match racing events help us to negotiate tricky track surfaces pretty well. When you race in one of the toughest divisions on the circuit, you never want to count your chickens before your eggs are hatched. Nonetheless, with my crew and the backing of TORCO Race Fuels and Atlantic Scaffolding, I'm feeling a renewed confidence in this team,” remarked Thacker.

"We would love be in the winner’s circle in Bowling Green. We've always enjoyed racing for and visiting with the fans at this complex. They're just good people."

Qualifying for the event will begin on Friday evening at 5 PM and continue on Saturday at 1 and 4:30 PM. First round of eliminations will begin at 1 PM on Sunday.
