McMillen Remains In The Thick Of Points Race

    June 30, 2005

Elkhart, IN - Terry McMillen and his Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny
Car powered by TORCO Racing Fuels, returns home after an event filled
week in western Canada. McMillen made several TV appearances, including
in-studio during the evening sports telecast. In a 10-minute question
and answer segment, McMillen told the large television audience what to
    expect at the event.

While it's great to watch IHRA Drag Racing on TV, Terry
encouraged fans to experience the event by attending. “Watching us on
television is good, but it does not compare to experiencing the noise
and power of these cars up close,” McMillen told the audience. “If we
had smell-a-vision you could maybe get a taste of what it is like with
all the burning nitro and fuel, but you can’t understand the raw power
unless you are at the track.”

“That went well,” McMillen said of the appearance during an
interview with IHRA.com columnist Mike Perry. “Any time I can generate
positive publicity for IHRA and my sponsors I am more than happy to do
    it.”

McMillen piloted his funny car to the #5 qualifying position
during the rain shortened sessions. "Of course we would have liked to
qualify a little higher", McMillen added. "We needed a couple of more
passes to work on our combination. We had new heads, weather and
    Edmonton's elevation to contend with."

In his semi-final appearance against Thomas Carter, McMillen
displayed his trademarked reaction time, taking a huge hole shot
advantage at the tree. Reaction times for McMillen during elimination
rounds continue to be outstanding. His 2005 season average reaction time
is .0425 compared to his opponents .0908. However, the hole shot was not
enough to keep McMillen in front of Carter. At half track the car lost
its blower belt, allowing Carter to drive by McMillen at the 1000ft mark
for the win. "The car was making great power", McMillen explained. "The
new heads were working great, our Flatout gaskets did a great job of
keeping everything sealed up nicely. We serviced the engine and found
    absolutely nothing wrong with it".

The Amalie Oil InstiGator, powered by TORCO Race Fuels will make
the 6th stop on the Hooters IHRA Drag Racing series July 15-17 at 3rd
Annual Motor City Nationals in Milan Michigan. This years event is
sponsored by the Warner Brothers film, The Dukes of Hazard.
