NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car

A Good Track For Us…

Milford, Michigan – Frank Parker and his VIPsports.com Dodge Stratus NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car team are headed to Cleves, Ohio for the August 5th – 7th NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 3 race at Edgewater Sports Park. This will be Round 4, of 6, Division 3 point meets and the final qualifying race in the Jeg’s Allstars “race within a race” series.

The still-new VIPsports.com Dodge Stratus and its Mopar Hemi have been carefully tuned for this race. Parker, team owner, noted that “Edgewater is a good track for us. Danny (driver, Danny Townsend) is one of the best alcohol funny car drivers in the business and probably has more laps at this track than anyone currently running.” With that advantage, the VIPsports.com team is confident their Jeg’s Allstars forty-three point lead over friend and competitor, Mick Snyder, will hold. Parker pointed out that “This is the last Jeg’s Allstars qualifying race for our division. To hold our lead and lock up an invitation to the Jeg’s ‘money race,’ we have to get the car into the second round of eliminations. Earning the invitation would be nice, but our sights are on, first, winning this race and, second, winning the Division 3 championship.”

The 21st Annual Jeg’s Allstars “race within a race” takes place at the Ameriquest Mortgage NHRA Nationals, at Rt. 66 Raceway, September 29th – October 2nd and will be televised on ESPN2. Jeg’s invites the top Sportsman car in eight different categories, from NHRA’s seven divisions, to compete for cash awards against the eight previous year champions. In addition to the Jeg’s lead, the VIPsports.com team will be defending their tenth place spot in NHRA TAFC national points, their very close second place (accomplished in three races, vs. number one’s four races) in Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series TAFC points and their extremely close (29 vs. 30 points) second place in the Spitzer Low Qualifier series.
