Oil pump question?

I have a FWRC dry sump pump on my car. The sump tank is home made and works fine other than having too much oil blowing into the breather/vent tank that is mounted next to it with a 1 1/4 hose. Has anyone ever done away with the breather tank and return to the valve cover? Would this cause to much oil in the valve cover vent tubes? Second question, If I remove the scavenge rotors and use the suction {#16} from the pressure side to suck out of a wet sump pan, would that work? I like the pump with the built on filter and everything fits well but would like to switch to wet sump if possible. Thanks
