needed infor for this question

    hi can anybody tell me the piston comp heights for these set ups. std block 170 cc head, first using a stock stroke crank whats the comp height of the piston, next using a piston with a 4.150 stroke, then last 4.5 stroke. injection, not sure does the comp height change when you want to run blown. take it easy on me guys a newbee. also where is the best place to order new pistons if need be. thx

    Piston Comp Height

    Its pretty easy to figure out. All you do is take the block deck height, subtract 1/2 the stroke, minus the rod length.

    But remember, this gives you a piston that will have zero deck height. You must factor in your gasket thickness and any extra clearance (piston down in the bore).

    As far as do you need extra deck clearance for a blown engine, yes.But, if you ask 5 people you will get 5 answers.

    There has been a lot of discussions on this forum about that, just search "deck clearance" I'm sure you will find lots of info.
