If mother nature co-operates, we will fire the car in anticipation of running this weekend.

I have two questions, I have a SMIV magneto, which coil should I use, the black or red top?

Also in relation to driveshaft and couplers, how much "end play" should I have once the collars are locked in place? I'm assuming I don't want it up tight against the tranny and rear end couplers.

    Thanks....Keith

As far as the coupler/driveshaft clearance goes....
    1. push driveshaft and sleeve tight forward
    2. coupler back tight
    3. the measuring tool is already in your hand, a 3/16" allen hex
    4. slide the clamp back with the flats of the hex trapped between the face of the coupler and the back of the clamp
    5. ease the hex down and out while being sure the clamp does'nt move, tighten the screws with the hex.
    6. rattle the shaft front to back, if it does'nt rattle, don't run it, go see your chassis builder.
