the word on the street is that Route 66 will lose it's fall date next year (I love that track but it's owners must have taken "stupid" pills. I mean, the #3 population market in the country and a record-setting facility, and they have no marketing and charge ridiculously high ticket prices...)

any way, anybody have a clue where the All Star race will move to if Route 66 does lose it's fall date? Would they just move it to the spring date?

Has anyone heard where it's going to be held?
All I can say is the Jeg family ought think about adding "The Shelly Howard" Jegs All Star Race!
With her winning the 2004 All Star Race in Joliet and the loss we've all suffered along with Paul and girls since then, I think it would only be fitting to honor the past champion with that addition to the name of the event?
I was the starter at the "old" Tulsa Int'l Raceway from '79 to '88 and I work part time on the NHRA national event starting line crew and I've been the starter at Tri-State Raceway in Earlville, IA since it opened.
I knew Shelly well from when she started racing in Tulsa in her Top Comp Dragster and I was lucky enough to be working the 2001 Topeka National when she won and was able to give her a big 'ole hug and share some memories about Tulsa, I also worked the 2001 US Nat's when she runnered up and worked the Joliet race in '04 when she won the All Star Race. I work at a D5 track now but D4 is always going to be my favorite as well as the "old" Tulsa Int'l Raceway which is near and dear to my heart along with the Howards.
Thanks for listening to me ramble and God Bless...
    Sincerely,

word has it virginia is going back nhra and will get a national event next year. i dont know which race chicago is losing, but it sounded like they are losing the spring race rather than the fall race to give virginia an event. the alcohol cars are slotted to return to columbus next year.

my only question is why can't they put the alky cars in st. louis instead?
