It's time for the 'Big Go,' the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indy. ITA takes a look at who's hot going into this weekend's race.

    TAD

    1. Steve Torrence - Tom Conway's hot rod is the car to beat right now. Will be tough good air or bad air.

    2. Aaron Olivarez - Armored Coatings has been flying lately. With cooler conditions forecasted, look for him in the late rounds.

    3. Art Gallant - Been on a roll of late, should run strong in Indy.

    4. Steve Federlin - Needs to stop Torrence this weekend. Not an easy task, neither will the rest of the field. Has a stout blown car, and should make the late rounds.

    5. Hillary Will - If this team gets 'on' could be very tough.

    6. Randy Meyer - Desperately needs a win to keep his championship hopes alive.

    7. Bill Reichert - If this team gets in a groove, could spell trouble for the rest of the field.

    8. Marty Thacker - Has a good running blown car, could prove to be the spoiler in this tough field, our TAD 'Dark Horse' of the week.

    TAFC

    1. Bob Newberry - Super consistent, and has a fast hot rod, our pick to win his second straight Indy title.

    2. Frank Manzo - Scored a win last weekend, taking out Newb in the semi's. A win here will help his championship hopes.

    3. Mick Snyder - Has the hottest hand in TAFC right now. Should be a late round player.

    4. Jay Payne - Always a threat to win when they show up.

    5. John Weaver - Has run very strong on the West Coast, first time for this team to come East.

    6. Paul Lee - Made a very strong showing behind the wheel of his old hot rod in Brainerd, should be strong again in Indy.

    7. Chuck Cheeseman - Haven't heard much out of 'Chucky' this year. Still has a fast hot rod that can run with the best of them.

    8. Bobby Martin - Ran very strong in Englishtown earlier in the year. Our TAFC 'Dark Horse' pick of the week.

    Performance:
    TAD Low: 5.24/270
    TAD Bump: 5.459
    TAFC Low: 5.56/259
    TAFC Bump: 5.772

for as much hell as rinehart gave me on my predictions,
    tad- torrence
    low et 5.241
    top speed 271.02 gallant
never mind about the bump spot, blame that on weather.com...

tafc - blame weather.com for performance predictions... didn't miss the bump - 5.80 that bad, didn't miss top speed 259.66 too bad either.

i also remember catching some flak for putting weaver so high in my rankings....

    flame on! :D [IMG]
