intake manifolds

any input on the pros/cons between bds and littlefield competition manifolds? the application is a blown tall deck big block chevy with an sfi burst panel and port nozzles. i need to replace my old bds and didn't know if there was something better out there? any input would be great... thanks... sean

They are about the same. The only thing better out there is a fabricated manifold like from hogan's with about a 1000 dollar differance. We run 6.30's with both bds and littlefield manifolds. You just have to have someone machine the burst panel in and possibly move the front or rear 1 " depending on your set up. Frank Rupert dose our machine work.

Intakes

AS FAR AS THE BDS AND THE LITTLEFIED THE ONLY PHYSICAL DIFFRENCES I SEE IS THE BDS IS A .500 INCH TALLER AND THE TENT ON THE MANIFOLD FLOOR IS SHARPER. NOT SURE IF THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN HP. THE INDY IS ALSO A VERY NICE INTAKE MAKES GETTING AT THE PORTS A LITTLE EASIER AND AND THE INDY HAS SOME PORT VOLUME TO THE INTAKE RUNNERS OF THE INTAKE POSSIBLY ALLOWING FOR BETTER CYLINDER DISTRIBUTION. IF CHANGE TO THE INDY IT IS 2IN. TALLER THAN THE MERT MAKING BLOWER BELT LENGTH A CONSIDERTAION AS WELL AS THROTTLE FUEL LINES ETC. WE STOCK ALL THREE AND MOST OF THE TIME COMES DOWN TO CUSTOMER PREFERENCE ON THE BDS VS. LITTLEFIELD.
