I need help with installing my B&J shorty 2 speed. I have an Lakewood 8 1/8" can and a Chevy crank. The input shaft for the B&J is for a Hemi (.787") pilot bearing. Do I need to get a new input shaft or is there a bearing that will work?

    Thanks,
    Keith

I think you can get a bearing through Bonifontie that has a sleeve on it to fit the chev crank.

    Bearing

Can't you run a bearing in the flywheel? But call Nick. DO Not run it with the wrong bearing size. I did one time, for about 3 seconds. Lessons learned. Don

Our motors are BBC, but some have Chevy crank flanges and some have 426 hemi flanges (8x-1/2" bolts).

With 3 motors on the tractor, sometimes our CHEVY cranks get put where HEMI cranks were. I just use a bushing to sleeve the input shaft to the correct diameter.

It strikes me that .787 is the Chevy diameter, I thought the Hemi was 1.000"?

Our stuff has Crower clutches. Has anyone ever run a brass bushing instead of a ball bearing?
