Just purchased one of the Indy blower manifolds to replace my current BDS manifold. I did not recieve any documentation with the new intake but Im running a 14-71 blower and it looks like I will have to open up the plenum quite a bit to match the blower base and plate. Has anyone else done this and did you have any issues or problems. This is the BBC intake. Indys website offers no help so Im sure someone here has already experienced this. Thanks for the help everyone!

I had to do the same thing on my BBC. I bought a set back plate from RBS Superchargers for my blower then I just traced the opening off the plate to the manifold and cut it out on a mill. I'm running a 14-71 Littlefield high helix retro with Kobelco rotors and it works great. They leave the extra material in the manifold for different setups.

I had to do the same . We also had to do a lot of work to get it to match the Big Chief heads , it works good though with the K11 setback.

I also cut the rear off my INDY intake and welded a plate on the rear so I could fit a crab cap MSD dist. without an offset drive. Worked great, with a MSD 10 Plus.

The ports are small so you have to port to your heads, not a bad thing but will take some time. The port injector holes are in a good spot. If you want to run a distributor, you will have to machine the back of the blower mounting surface, wish they did that from the factory as I had to machine mine. It would only take a few minutes when the manifold is built but is a pain when you are trying to fit. I’d like to see the driver’s side mounting surface extended so you could set back the blower without a plate. Overall I think it is a very good manifold even with its issues compared with the others available for a STD port BBC.

    indy intake

Ran a Mag one with my 14 degree Darts back when. It is a really good intake. Made lots of power. Just set it to Fowler engines. He knows exact. what to do. Don
