I would like to get some advice from the top alcohol experts here. I run a heads-up small tire car and I am contemplating building an Alcohol Big Block Chevy to compete, but with a centrifugal supercharger - a Vortech XI Billet Supercharger. This supercharger typically makes around 1700 horsepower on small block Supercharged GAS engines with good canted valve heads.

I pay a +100 lb penalty for going with a big block, but I'd like to try it. I had a few questions for you experts.
With a 470-480ci engine, I will likely make somewhere around 16-20 PSI MAX. What compression should I consider with alcohol? I'm thinking 12:1 compression at that boost level would be totally doable? How about RPM range of the engine?

I need to do a conventional BBC. Was thinking Dart block, Dart 360 solid heads, and the Vortech.

Do you think this will make more peak power than the small block gas setups? Or just more total average power?

Thoughts or advice would be great.
