    Anyone had luck creating/buying an industrial type flow meter and hooking it up to your data logger? For $1000 bucks I can think of a lot of things I could buy for the car than one piece of information....although I agree it's an important piece of information :rolleyes:

    It Has A 2 Wire Output Like Most Other Flow Meters. It Uses A Magnetic Pick Up That Produces Pulses Per Gallon

    Do most data loggers use the paddle style or turbine style?

    don't look like the gpm will work..you might ask someone smarter than me...but for over $600.00 you might ask the RPM guy what he sells his for and you know it will be rite not a second guess..Dave

    Racepak's used to be in the $1200 range.
    Their advantage is that they are so small, which is nice when you want them on-board the vehicle.

    Here's some food for thought;
    There are all kinds of data we can be collecting, but we all want to know how much fuel is going into the motor. So in a typical roots setup with hat nozzles and ports. There is not just 1 location to put a flowmeter, unless you come out of the BV with only 1 hose, then thru the flowmeter then Y off to both the hat and port distribution blocks. And there is nothing wrong with this.
    All I'm saying is your trying to minimize cost, as I was, and I replumbed in order to get by with only buying 1 flowmeter.

    Some dyno shops use 3 meters in the forementioned roots setup, 1 in the hat line, 1 in the port line and 1 behind the high speed. This way you know your split above/below the blower, what/when your HS is doing and what the total GPM is going into your motor. 3x$1200:eek:
