EGT Depth

How far does everyone put their EGT's into the header tube? Do you just put the element (the loop encased in ceramic at the end) in the exhaust path or to you move the whole probe in further? If you do, why, how far and is there an effect on readings? Thanks.

EGT position

We just went through this with Todd Paton after our tire explosion at Vegas wiped off the right side set of probes. He wants the tip of the probe centered in the tube for an alcohol car. Hope that helps.
