Milford, Michigan. The VIPsports.com Top Alcohol Funny Car team is on their way to Houston, Texas, for the 19th Annual O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals March 31 – April 1. The long haul from Bradenton, Florida is being made easier by their win in this past Sunday’s NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 2 race.

Still smarting from a round two minor mechanical problem that put them out of the Gatornationals, the ParkerTech Racing Services crew looked to the Bradenton race as a chance to resolve the problem and improve their performance. They did just that, by giving driver Danny Townsend a tune-up that defeated defending National TAFC Champion Bob Newberry.

Frank Parker, team owner, was quick to credit his crew for the win. He also acknowledged the support of his sponsor, VIPsports.com. “The folks at VIPsports.com were really excited about our performance last year. So much so,” said Parker, “that they helped us research new parts and procedures for this year. This win, in only our second race, is showing them dividends for their support.”

The O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals will be the third race in as many weekends for the VIPsports.com Dodge Stratus Top Alcohol Funny Car. Following Houston, the transporter heads for Las Vegas and the NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals, April 6-9. This four week “spring tour,” is a first for ParkerTech Racing Services and is another outcome of the excitement experienced by team sponsor VIPsports.com.

Top Alcohol qualifying, at the O’Reilly Spring Nationals, kicks off on Friday, March 31, at 1 pm and 5 pm. It picks up again on Saturday at 10:30 am and 3 pm, with the first round of eliminations at 4:15 pm. On Sunday, the opening ceremonies begin at 10 am, with eliminations following at 11 am.
