If you mean close up the intake opening of the blower then most of the blower makers supply a pice that fits in the back and closes it up. RBS might have some. They other thing to do is make a plate to fit between the blower and hat with the correct size opening.

Sorry Mike I Meant To Say Closing Up The Hat With Out Creating A Pocket In The Rear Of The Hat. Buzzards Have The 15 In Opening And My Blower Has The 10.5 In Opening And I Cant Afford A Carbon Hat Right Now So I Need To Work Something On This Hat I'm Thinking about A Pourable Aluminum And Work A Radius On The Inside rear Just Wanted To Know If Anybody Else Has tried to close Up The Hat

to be honest jamie , you don't HAVE to do anything. it's not like the pocket in the back is going to cause problems . if you were running 6.00 every run and just couldn't get in the 5's , i would say to do something. so much money is waisted in this sport from monkey see / monkey do. 6 years ago i ran 5.80 flat and had a standard buzzard catcher on a littlefield without any modifications , a steel hat hays clutch and old brad fuel heads that had 2.375 intake valves. i ran a ton of 80's and 90's and that showed you did not need to buy all the latest /greatest bells and whistles. like i have told you, just bolt it together and go have some fun... trust me, it will be fine. your intentions are good and in the right directions, but untill you figure out the simple stuff, and the driver can go a---to ----b comfortably, just go make a few laps, and thanks for the documents.:D

    closing up buzzard

a poor boy way to do it is with a piece of steel sheetmetal cut out and rolled over a piece of pipe then bolted in using some small 8-32 bolts and nuts quick simple and funtionable.

Uhh, it probably just looks funny written down that way considering the earlier posts but you will have to have some kind of plate to adapt the long bolt pattern hat to the short pattern blower. (big hole to little hole?)

If you are making it, make the back bolt holes in the same spot as now. The front of the hat will sit forward a little bit. In other words, on the adapter plate the rear holes will be open and the front holes will be threaded. Last one I made for myself was 3/4" thick.

    Have a safe race
